LEVEL 3

Ready for Easy SATB!

The biggest challenge with performing SATB literature with young voices is that the young men often gravitate to the melody and away from their assigned part. Sight Singing will help solve this problem as they can “see” their part. Also, just singing and listening more will help. If you’ve made it this far successfully...they ARE ready to divide. My SAT(B) titles were designed to be a “first time” experience for divisi of tenors and basses. The concept is that they stay together on a moderate baritone part until the chorus where they divide. The bass part is often doubled in the piano and the tenor does not exceed “D” in range. Here are the titles:

REAL SAB – 8th and 9th grade changed voices

I’ve developed a series of arrangements for the older male voice that has not had much experience but has changed to a lower register. The feature is that the baritones have melody throughout that is embellished by Sopranos and Altos. Unique but it works!

Red River Valley – SAB - Emerson - Add to Cart
